Lorne Beug - The Reason He Called it Hawk's House

The reason that I called it Hawk’s House was because it sort of represented the kind of view…pyramidal vision, or the viewpoint a hawk might have when he is kind of gliding high above the prairie landscape with this huge range of vision below him. Another aspect of that piece is, I guess, the glass covering of the landscape sort of has this protective or preserving kind of aspect. So it was meant to kind of focus vision on it but also to indicate a kind of regard or almost like making it a sacred landscape beneath the glass.
