Calligraphy

Careful hand-lettering, handwriting, or the decorative art of lettering in an ornamental style using brushes or pens. Or the lettering that is produced in this way. There are many kinds of calligraphy. In some cultures, calligraphy is more important as an art form than in others. Its importance is particularly great in China, Japan, and in Arabia (see Islamic art). (Artlex.com)
