Douglas Walker

About the Artist

Douglas Walker was born in Brockville, Ontario in 1958. He studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design from 1977 to 1981. Many of his recent paintings depict both human figures and bizarre, fantasy landscapes. He has also produced  seriesA number of things or events standing or succeeding in order, and connected by a like relation; sequence; order; course; a succession of things; as, a continuous series of calamitous events. (The Online Plain Text English Dictionary)  of photoprints, large-scale photographs combined with sculptural representations.

Walker’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. The Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan organized the exhibition, Douglas Walker: A Future in Ruins, which included both photoprints and landscapes under glass, including Untitled #21 (presented here on the ARTSask website) from the Mendel Art Gallery collection.

Walker is a practising artist in Toronto, Ontario.
